I first met Kerry when I was a client of the  Big Jump Studios in Ottawa. She performed the role of production assistant then asset manager on the multi-episodes animated pre-school series called ‘Wolf Joe’ for TVOKids/Knowledge Network. I was immediately impressed with her work ethic,  organizational abilities and considerable people managing when interacting with the creative heads from both the client and studio teams.  And she’s a great storyteller and creative soul too. 

As a producer with decades of animation production crew experience  I have a fairly good assessment for producers in the making and it’s  evident to me that Kerry is exactly that. She’s got a powerful creative drive also, a major requirement for persisting in film ventures. And a great sense of humour.

The 2D Harmony production at Big Jump was very challenging, but Kerry handled her workload along with the mentoring of new crew members superbly.  I saw her complete many ‘above and beyond’ tasks to bring the director’s vision to fruition. She kept order, remained calm under pressure while firmly co-ordinating the assets and demand for 40-plus  episodes that came in and out of the animation pipeline.  She created reports and updates and kept us all informed of issues and fixes.

I always found her to be enthusiastic and helpful, and quick to reply to any of my requests yet always mindful of her responsibility to the budget and schedule – a key aptitude for producers. 

Since the project has ended, and her return to BC, we have kept in touch and I have become an informal mentor to her. I've been impressed with her dedication to her craft, always improving her skillset through online training courses and seminars. She is powerfully creative and determined. Kerry is a force to be reckoned with and I hope you get to work with her.

Having worked with Kerry in the past on Game of Thrones, she has a great enthusiasm to learn, and is a great person to have on the team. Kerry always ave her role 100% and took all the challenges that were thrown her way, with a smile and eagerness (even in the most challenging weather conditions and long hour shooting hours). I have no doubt that Kerry would be a great additional to any creative team, and I recommend her with all my support.

Kerry was a wonderful and dependable freelance animation writer for TCL’s IDEO Studio. She excelled at utilizing our pre-created animated assets. She can always be counted on to be quick, timely, and meet any deadline presented to her. She was always a joy to work with, and went above and beyond to do what was needed of her as a writer.

Kerry was a student of mine for a year at Algonquin College on the postgraduate Screenwriting course. She was an active member of the class, eager to give her input on all discussions and quick to turn around assignments. She was also keen to receive constructive criticism of her writing, and took all comments onboard with a positive attitude. Whilst on the course, she worked part-time as an ambassador for the college, and also volunteered to talk to new and prospective students, about her work experience and academic achievements. Since graduation, she has remained an active member of our graduate Social Media groups and regularly posts job and course information that the group members find very helpful. A positive and fun individual who works well with lots of different personality types.

Kerry and I worked together at Big Jump, but I'd gotten to know her before then at Algonquin College. She is extremely personable and knows how to crack a well timed joke to keep the wheels turning during a long day. We worked together on "Wolf Joe", which was a challenging show at times due to the tight deadlines. Thankfully, Kerry was very reliable and organized- whenever I was looking for something that I couldn't find, she was quick to offer me assistance and always followed up if she'd been delayed in way. Whenever she needed something from me, her instructions were always clear and the channels for communication were always open, guaranteed with a smile and a laugh! I was especially impressed that Kerry was able to manage her scriptwriting courses along with working full time, as well as working on some of her own projects; a testament to her time management and her passions. We're no longer in the same city, but I would definitely love to work on a team alongside her again in the future and thankful we continue to stay in touch.

Kerry volunteered for our event the Ottawa International Animation Festival. She is a wonderful hard worker and a pleasure to interact with. She is quite willing to help out with various duties, before and after the festival and always had a willing and pleasant attitude.

Kerry is a true joy to work with. As PA on our production, Kerry was always on top of what needed to be done. She is a quick learner, reliable, and a real team player. Adapting quickly to the long hours and demands of this position, Kerry was brilliant at communicating and keeping me up to date on everything. It was great to be greeted by her smile and collection of notes first thing in the morning, ready to get the day started. She is a very creative individual who has a lot to offer.

Kerry is an extremely creative and talented individual. She helped solidify a script direction for a project in pre-development at Dainty Production, Inc. Her insight, research and creative approaches helped us in choosing a creative path for our feature film project in its early stages. I’d highly recommend Kerry for any writing or creative projects that need a solid individual that brings 100% creativity and professionalism to every job they undertake. She is also an awesome artist!

I worked with Kerry in the capacity of story editor on an animated short film project she is developing. She is a keen learner and has a solid foundation in the storytelling craft. She has continued to demonstrate a willingness to expand her skill set and to push her creativity, while always remaining professional.

 Kerry is a firebrand..constantly driven, positively charged, and relentlessly motivated. Kerry was FUN from day one. She is a smart, diligent, curious, and creative human being: all things that make for a great student. I loved her ability to talk about all things scriptwriting, and her knowledge is based on real-life perspectives with hands-on experience. Every teacher appreciates a student like Kerry: her enthusiasm, coupled with real skill was a joy in the classroom. I wish I had a dozen more like her every year. I recommend her highly to any environment that appreciates high energy, quick thinking, and a desire to make good art. She balances a serious appreciation for her craft with levity and a great sense of humour.
